About

Born in 1999 in northern Iran, Tina Masoumi is a documentary-inspired photographer currently based in Marseille, France. Her passion for visual storytelling began during high school, where she pursued a diploma in cinema studies at a specialized school in northern Iran. Due to political circumstances, she was unable to continue her education further at the time. After leaving Iran in early 2023, she turned to photography as a means of self-expression, using it to navigate displacement and articulate her experiences in exile.

Her work blends documentary and artistic photography, focusing on personal stories and themes of identity, belonging. Tina aims to capture the complexity of human experiences through intimate portraits and everyday moments.

She is a member of the Solar Collective of Women Photographers in Marseille and has recently been awarded a scholarship to participate in the Penumbra Foundation's long-term photobook program.
